Ottoman matchlock build, slideshow and vids
Another video of another build, this time a matchlock similar to those used by the Ottoman empire around the early to mid 16th century. I am not done with this one, it needs something, maybe some metal work, most of the examples I found on line have some kind of elaborate inlays and/or metal work. I haven't decided what it needs yet.

Sanyo Beta VCR4900 belt replacement
Просмотров 714 месяца назад
Basic video showing how I replaced the belts in my Sanyo VCR4900 Beta player. Its not very complex and is a good way to start when trying to breath life into a 40 plus year old obsolete beta machine, the belts and other rubber parts are almost certainly beyond hope. From here you can track down other issues as the come. From my experience, limited to five machines, the build quality is so good ...

Sony Betamovie BMC550 sensor lens rehab

Many, if not all, BMC 550s have a similar issue, foggy image quality. I dont know what was used to seal the layers of glass together 40 years ago but it hasn't stood up well to the test of time. I you shine a light down the lens barrel of a 550 or later model, you may be able to see all the way down to the sensor lens, you may also be able to see haze or some other mottling in the deepest part ...

No idea. If you have a dud roll of film that you could put in to test it, try that, they only really work with film in them. wind it up, and see if it works paying close attention to the shutter. If yours has the manual setting that is even better. The biggest problem of the models that I have had is sticky shutter blades.

You should have digitized the film first, and then used the free online program called stereophotomaker for perfect alignment and subsequent cropping. Then you don't have to use that parallelogram thing with your Zorki. Then you can also use the 30:1 ratio instead of the typical inter-pupillary distance. But thanks for the info on the Stereo Realist. I just picked one up today.

I have a sweet little Kodak Vigilant (could be wrong on the name), that takes beautiful photos, but the hassle of respooling keeps me from running it. I have, but sitting in the dark to spool enough rolls to make an outing worth while defeats the fun of shooting. My Bronica takes beautiful photos as well, with no hassle at all. Same goes for my Argaflex and Yashika D. Both have fab glass, only one takes 120.
